URGENT SONICWALL SECURITY ALERT - MySonicWall Backup File Incident

ACT NOW: Critical MySonicWall Security Incident

We have received notification of a potential security breach affecting some customers who have their SonicWall firewall devices backing up configuration to the cloud.
 
This afternoon (17th September 2025) we received the following notification:

 "As part of our commitment to transparency, we are notifying you of an incident that exposed firewall configuration backup files stored in certain MySonicWall accounts. Access to encrypted credentials and other information contained in the exposed backup files could make exploitation of firewalls significantly easier for threat actors."
 
IF YOU HAVE A MYSONICWALL FIREWALL RUNNING - LOG INTO YOUR MYSONICWALL ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY Customers with devices that have been affected - will see a security notification screen upon logging into their account.

  
If you do see a notification in your MySonicWall account take the steps outlined below IMMEDIATELY
 
If you do not see a notification in your MySonicWall account - Verify if cloud backups are enabled on your device
 
If you do not have cloud backups enabled and have not received a security notification in your MySonicWall account - you are not affected.
 
If you do have cloud backups enabled but have not seen a security notification - You may not be affected and will receive additional guidance in the coming days to determine if your backup files were impacted.

Customers with NetThreat Support Contracts - Contact us on support@netthreat.co.uk and we will make you aware of how we are going to assist you with mitigation.
